Certificate Description
Under the TTMRA a person who is registered to practice an occupation in Australia is entitled to practise an equivalent occupation in New Zealand.
To do this you need to give notice to the New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners that you wish to be issued with a certificate of competence under the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016 in accordance with the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 (TTMRA).
Under TTMRA the focus of ‘equivalent occupation' is on the activities authorised to be carried out under each registration and whether or not these are substantially the same or ‘equivalent'.
